ZEISS Refractive
EUROPE (Western and Northern)
Zeiss Refractive suite consisting of a
Zeiss Visumax 500 femtosecond laser,
and a MEL 80 Excimer unit.
Both devices were in use until Summer 2024,,
they have been deinstalled by Zeiss technical team,
brought back in the Zeiss Facilities and completely checked.
They are in good working order.
The Zeiss refractive suite, combines two cutting-edge
technologies in the field of eye surgery:
the VisuMax 500 femtosecond laser and
the MEL80 excimer laser. This combination allows for
highly precise vision correction procedures tailored to
patients suffering from conditions such as myopia,
hyperopia, and astigmatism.
The **VisuMax 500**, a femtosecond laser developed by Zeiss,
is renowned for its ability to perform ultra-precise corneal
incisions with low energy consumption, minimizing the risk of
damage to surrounding tissues.
Its precision enables the creation of thin,
homogeneous corneal flaps, essential for
techniques like LASIK or flapless refractive surgery,
known as SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction).
The VisuMax offers great comfort to patients,
thanks to a fast and nearly painless procedure.
The **MEL80**, also produced by Zeiss, is a
next-generation excimer laser. It is used in
the corneal reshaping phase, after the incision made by
the VisuMax, to correct visual anomalies. Its fast execution,
combined with an optimized ablation profile, allows for
quicker visual recovery. The MEL80 is particularly effective in
treating fine optical aberrations, providing exceptional post
operative visual quality.
Thanks to this ultra-modern refractive suite,
patients in Villefranche-sur-Saône have access to safe,
fast, and effective surgical solutions to improve their vision and
quality of life. These advanced technologies ensure
maximum safety and long-lasting results.
