The Zeiss OPMI MDO is a high-precision surgical microscope specifically well-suited
for Cataract and other Ophthalmic applications.

The Zeiss OPMI MDO is a surgical microscope developed by Carl Zeiss Meditec.
It is designed to deliver high-quality images acquired from routine examinations
and surgical procedures. The OPMI MDO is easy to use, mobile,
and compact which makes it specifically well-suited
for Cataract and other Ophthalmic applications.
The OPMI MDO is equipped with two different illumination systems:
coaxial illumination and inclined illumination.
The coaxial illumination is used for retro-illumination while the inclined illumination
is designed to prevent strain the retina of the patient's eye
and produce an enhanced impression of depth in the image.
The two systems allow the surgeons to tailor a procedure based on the patient needs.
The MDO system is designed to be controlled by a foot switch.
The foot switch is configured to activate the motors that control a number of functions.
The whole system is designed to deliver smooth adjustment of the zoom
and focus functions which further increases to the clarity of the image.
The MDO operating microscope is compatible with the S5
floor stand which reduces the overall footprint of the microscope system.
