Puritan Bennett 840 Ventilator
AMERICA North (USA-Canada-Mexico)
The Puritan Bennett 840 Ventilator is a versatile
and state-of-the-art ventilator which can be used in hospitals,
clinics, and home care. Equipped with a variety
of software only found in Puritan Bennett/Covidien systems,
the 840 Ventilator aims to improve the ventilation outcomes
and thereby also improve the quality of life for the patients.
The 840 Ventilator is equipped with highly advanced tools configured
to improve synchrony and decision support.
It is compatible with several software, such as Proportional Assist Ventilation (PAV+),
BiLevel Software, NeoMode Software,
Volume Ventilation Plus Software, ESens, Rise Time %, Flow Triggering.
It also has clinician decision support such as Trending Software,
Respiratory Mechanics, Tube Compensation Software, and NIV.
The PAV+ software manages the patient's breathing
and also promotes natural breathing when compared
to conventional mechanical ventilation.
The 840 Ventilator is powered by the AC mains but can use the Puritan Bennett 802
or 803 Backup Power Source. During operation, the AC mains charges the BPS.
The PB 840 has an option for using two different carts: the Compressor Mount Cart
and the Pole Cart. Both of these carts improve the patient-safety,
ventilator maneuverability, and transport efficiency.
The 840 Ventilator is equipped with the DualView LCD touchscreen which displays
monitored data and allows clinicians to change the settings of the ventilator.
It also allows transfer of the recorded data into the patient's electronic medical record.
All these features help this ventilation system to improve the quality of life
for the patients using the ventilator.
