Pentacam® HR is a rotating Scheimpflug camera that
obtains images of the anterior segment of the eye,
The Scheimpflug technique provides sharp and clear images that
provide information about structures from the anterior surface of
the cornea to the posterior lens capsule.
The most important advantages of the rotational imaging process are
the possibility of precise measurement of the central part of the cornea, correction for eye movements, easy fixation for the patient and a very short examination time,
The camera creates an image of the anterior segment of the eye using a
rotating camera that performs a series of eye measurements.
This measurement procedure allows for obtaining a
three-dimensional image. A complete image with maximum resolution is
obtained in no more than two seconds. Any movements of
the eyeball during the measurement are corrected by
the digital eye tracking system.
Pentacam® HR measures and analyzes up to 138,000 true
elevation points to ensure the most accurate image and
assessment of the eye. Each measurement creates one
cross-section of the entire eye surface.
A three-dimensional model of the anterior segment of
the eye is created from the data obtained in this way,
