The Leica M525 OH4 is a mobile, versatile, and durable surgical microscope designed
for use in neurosurgery in a hospital or clinical setting.
Developed by Leica Microsystems, the M525 OH4 combines
the proven Leica technologies with an ergonomic design,
unparalleled illumination system, user-friendly features,
enhanced maneuverability, improved balance, innovative movement,
and intuitive controls to improve surgical workflow.
The M525 OH4 features Leica's OptiChrome technology and the Leica M525.
The OptiChrome and Leica M525 enable the surgical microscope
to increase the working distance, provide greater depth of focus,
and emit brighter illumination.
The ergonomically designed Leica surgical microscope is combined
with an IGS system to allow surgeons to easily position the microscope.
Users can view the scanned area via a 24-inch HD flat screen or wirelessly
via an Apple device.
Data can be easily stored or retrieved by using the Leica MDRS4
or the Med X Change HDMD recording system. Surgeons can also input data
from external sources such as MRI, CT, IGS, and endoscopes by using the Leica DI C500.
The surgical microscope is provided with BrightCare
and AutoIris technologies which improve the safety of the patient.
The BrightCare automatically controls the intensity of light based
on the working distance while the AutoIris is adapted
to automatically control the light diameter based on the magnification.
The M525 OH4 is also equipped with two independent 300-watt xenon
arc-lamp illumination systems that ensure that there will always
be a light source during surgery even if one lamp fails.
