Drager Babylog 8000 Plus Ventilator
AMERICA North (USA-Canada-Mexico)
The Drager Babylog 8000 Plus Ventilator is a long-term ventilator
that provides ventilation support to newborn babies, premature babies,
and infants with a body weight of up to 20 kg.
The Babylog 8000 Plus allows for optimal levels of spontaneous breathing
and facilitates the weaning process in a manner that can protect the patient
from volutrauma or atelectasis.
The Babylog 8000 Plus allows the medical personnel to accurately
and easily tailor the ventilation mode.
It features a number of ventilation mode options including Intermittent Positive
Pressure Ventilation (IPPV) and Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation (IMV) IPPV/IMV,
Synchronized Intermittent Postive Pressure Ventilation (SIPPV)
Synchronized Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation (SIMV),
Pressure Support Ventilation (PSV), Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP).
These modes can be combined with special functions such
as Volume Guarantee (VG), High-Frequency Ventilation (HFV),
and Variable Inspiratory Variable Expiratory Flow (VIVE).
The Drager ventilator is equipped with the Volume Guarantee system
that combines the advantages of pressure and volume controlled ventilation
to ensure sufficient ventilation. It also utilizes the HFV which can be combined
with CPAP or IMV modes to accurately measure the tidal volumes
and allow the medical personnel to tailor the therapy to suit the patient's needs.
It is provided with a nasal CPAP system that allows for stable, atraumatic CPAP deliver.
The PSV enables the ventilator to maintain optimal inspiration at all times by automatically compensating for leakage and synchronizing the inspiration
and expiration. The ventilator is configured to monitor the insipratory oxygen
concentration, airway pressure tidal volume, and breathing rate.
The Babylog 8000 Plus is designed to have an option to be equipped
with an interface for transfering measured data and settings to units,
such as patient monitors or computers. The ventilator can also be combined
with a medical nebulizer.
