There are three types of electron ionization (EI) sources available on the 5977A Series MSD
Standard EI stainless steel (SS) source
EI Extractor (XTR) high sensitivity Extractor
CI Chemical Ionization source includes a reagent flow control system, a CI calibration system, and other required hardware features
5977A Mass Selective Detector
EI source Standard Inert or high sensitivity Extractor
CI source PCI, NCI, and EI acquisition
Ion source temperature 150–350 °C
Quadrupole temperature 106–200 °C
