HS code 8445 - Machines for preparing textile fibres; spinning, doubling or twisting machines and other machinery for producing textile yarns; textile reeling or winding (including weft-winding) machines and machines for preparing textile yarns for use on the machines of heading 84.46 or 84.47.
HS code 8445 20 10 for - Textile spinning machines - Electrically operated.

Open-end spinning is cleaper spinning method where the yarn is twisted by rotating at the hap or break in the flow (the fibers wrap around the yarn vs spinning one long piece of yarn). Open end spinning offerd higher poductivity and less processed than ring spinning method but it gives products with a lower quality with frayed texture and poorer wear resistance. It is also called break spinning or rotor spinning.

Open end technology has been developped in the 30's. Elitex from CZ has developped the first rotor spinning machine running at 30000 rpm with its very well known BD200 model in 1965. The speed has increased rapidely at 100,000 rpm in the mid 70s. Noadays Open End is widely spred as a mass production spinning method.

Questions and answer corner from users

Q: Schlaforst ACO seems to be a very known machine for open-end. I have seen a complete mill with various models. Can you explain the difference?
A: There are 18 SE-9 168 unit frames - non Amsler equipped- 10 with 46 mm rotor and 8 with 40 mm rotor .
There are 10 SE-9 240 unit frames - 9, equipped with Amsler units- 46 mm rotor.
There are 8 SE-10 240 unit frames - non Amsler- 40 mm rotor.
We have enough of the 46 and 40 mm rotors to change them as styles dictated. All the 40 mm rotors are TT grove that we used in filling.
All the 46 mm rotors are U groove that we used in the Warp yarn frames.
There is an extra set of 46 mm TT rotors that we used in the 25P/75C mix- 240 rotors.
All frames have B174 combing rolls ( 100% ) but we have OS21 rings for combination poly/cotton yarns.

The 168 unit frames are 80' in length.
The 240 unit frames are 107' in length ( except Amsler frames, they are 109' because of Amsler control box mounted on top)
The SE10 240 unit frames are 108' in length.
All frames have 2 piecers ( robots ).
 No frames have waxing devices.
SE-9 Rotor drive has a 23 kw on 1 end and 35 kw on the other end.
SE-10 Rotor Drive has a 35 kw on both ends.
Combing roll drive motor is 17 kw on both frame types.
All frames have Uster UPG Polyguard clearers.

Q: I want to buy some Schlafhorst SE9, SE10 Open end with 288 spindles how many containers do I need and how do you load the machines?
A: For one Schlafhorst SE9, SE10 Open end with 288 spindles you will need 2 complete 40FT high cube containers. The fees of the sections will be removed and the open end sections will be secured on special palettes made for this purpose. On section of open end will be on top of the other will be held by a metal frame to avoid any damage. We usually have these farmes made for few hundred dollars each.
