Find jacquard heads with Wotol

Jacquard weaving was invented by French man Mr Jacquard in the 19th century in the city of Lyon - France. It was based on the use of perforated cards to select the threads to be lifted. Today jacquard heads have become electronically controlled and do not require anymore punched paper. Jacquard weaving enables to make more advanced designs just by crossing the yarns during the weaving. It is possible to reproduce complex designs such as an animal or a landscape with the jacquard weaving. Jacquard weaving is used for home furnishing, clothing, car seats and all kinds of technical fabrics. Jacquard format for weaving starts from 1344 hooks and canreach more than 10,000 hooks. More hooks in the jacquard head mans more complexe design and more flexibility in the creation.

Leader jacquard machine producer is Staubli who took over Verdol in the 80s. An other major producer of jacquard heads is Bonas from the UK.

You can buy jacquard heads witout the weaving loom if you only need the jacquard.

FAQ corner - questions and answers received from members
Can I install a Staubli CX870 that was running on a Picanol Gammax loom on my Dornier HTV loom?
Yes you can use install a Staubli CX870 from a Picanol to a Dornier but you will need to change the side of the gear box because they are not on the same side. This change is not too complicated on Staubli CX series. It is more difficult on Staubli LX1600 or LX3200
